The scams you see so often are definitely not 'businesses' as I understand. They are rip-offs.

Wendy's article was fantastic. It clearly outlines the different options available and allows you to evaluate them based on your own skill base.

I echo Tina's sentiment - working from home can be difficult. But....I wouldn't have it any way.
On days where I do not have clients, I often work at my computer in my bath robe. I LOVE IT!
